About the CPD Portfolio Builder

Back in 2007, I was a university lecturer, and a local ambulance service commissioned a resource to assist their staff with the first HCPC (or HPC as it was then) audit of paramedics. As a result of this, the first CPD Portfolio Builder was born and was very successful. Over time, it became apparent that staff from other ambulance services also wanted somewhere to record their CPD and not just for the HCPC either. In theory, everyone in the NHS has an annual personal development review/appraisal and so keeping track of the Key Skills Framework dimensions also became important.

So in 2009, I set about creating a new version of the website. Since then it has been through a number of iterations, the most recent in 2022. Each iteration has improved on the last and I hope this current iteration is going to last a while.

I am often asked why it is free. It is free because recording of CPD is very easy, you just need to know how to play the game, and I take exception to other companies fleecing my profession. That said, I am planning on developing a IOS and Android app for this site, for which I might charge a small fee. However, this site will always remain free.

As with any site, there are no guarantees...if I am hit by a bus tomorrow, eventually the site would disappear once the bills stop getting paid, but in the meantime, feel free to join me in recording your CPD!.
